[[Jarek Mace]], [[Kaldir Ratharin]] and [[Marinus B Willard]] meet in the Lucky Lady Inn, in the city of [[Ventelas]]. Jarek is accosted by some other bar patrons, who are slightly the worse for wear. They believe Jarek has been involved in a "minor indiscretion" with their ring-leader's wife. A short scuffle breaks out, and Jarek swiftly knocks the leader unconscious before drawing his weapon on the remaining assailants, who immediately flee the inn.

Marinus and Kaldir, who were already acquainted, were watching all of this, and even placed a small wager on the outcome. The three men get chatting and make their introductions. They are joined shortly by another man, Berrigon. After the usual pleasantries, he outlines a mission that he believes they may be interested in. He wants them to deliver some supplies to bandits in the Inglewood, a few hours to the north-east along the main road. The party accepts, but Berrigon has an additional mission which he will only discuss with Kaldir and Marinus. Jarek takes the opportunity to visit the local Mercenaries' Guild.

Berrigon confirms he is member of the Black Tendril, an organisation which Kaldir and Marinus are also loosely associated with. Berrigon asks the pair to hunt down and gather information concerning a field agent of one of his rivals. The agent has known aliases of Varic Sellash and Drakus Brayden. Berrigon insists that Jarek is not made aware of this, as he is not yet known to the Black Tendril.

At the Mercenaries' Guild, Jarek speaks to the head of recruitment, Enris, with whom he is already well acquainted due to his previous mercenary work. Olarin 1425

This period covers the initial meeting and creation of the Wyvern's Talon Adventuring Company, including their first encounter with a cult of Necromancers near Riddlebeck. The sorcerer, Korwyn Valamir, joins the party during Olarin and they add the Cleric, Rodan Jard, to their roster for a brief period.

Jalin 1425

An eventful month for the Wyvern's Talon. They have their first proper exposure to the League of Enlightenment and become embroiled in a conflict with Orcs during the Battle of Riddlebeck. Most of the party perish during the second stage of this conflict, including their new allies Culain and Danril Eridrith, whilst attempting to free a nearby fortress from the Orc leader. New blood swells the group back to full strength and beyond, and Rodan Jard joins the party on a full-time basis. Korwyn Valamir's body is recovered from Necromancers and returned to life, thanks to the efforts of Daxia, a mysterious new party member from Elingor.

The party run many mercenary missions for local employers, most notably Duke Parvellian, which brings them into conflict with Ogres, Ettins, an Ogre Mage and a Phase Spider, amongst other threats. They become caught up in a conflict between two factions of the Black Tendril, resulting in their former ally Berrigon fleeing the city. They learn of an unholy atrocity being planned by the Cult of the Goat, followers of Orcus, in Little Dingle but are able to thwart their foul plans. They also find evidence which seems to link the League of Enlightenment with worship of the Arch Devil, Asmodeus.

A member of The Ten, Novenia, arrives from Elingor and attempts to capture Korwyn to bring him home to face his father's wrath, but the party despatch her and her henchmen. They also help to negotiate a ransom exchange for a kidnapped young woman from Ventelas, being held captive by bandits in the Inglewood.

Pelagan 1425

The Wyvern's Talon take a well deserved break to relax and recuperate. Kaldir uses the time to update his spell book using the captured tomes of enemy spell casters and performs a clandestine mission in Ventelas for a member of the League of Enlightenment. A new cleric and hunter of Undead, Valyn Malkeenian, joins the party while Rodan Jard returns to other duties. They travel to a small outpost on the edge of the Kingdom where they encounter more Necromancers who have been conducting vile experiments on the former inhabitants and appear to be attempting to animate an undead young Dragon.

They defeat a Bugbear raiding party which had been operating close to the west gate of Ventelas, capturing two of the creatures and selling them to be used in the Gladiator Pits. They assist Barty Grayrunner with his quest to slay an Ogre, in the hope of impressing his father, Barvid Grayrunner.
